Residential Solutions
There are 3 main types of solar systems. See below
GRID-TIED Systems
GRID-TIED systems will provide solar electricity during the day and grid at night. If you need more the during the day, the grid can supplement. However, if your system produces more than you need, you may be able to sell it back to the grid for credits via net metering.
Hybrid System
Hybrid system are a combination of grid-tied & off-grid power distribution regulated by a smart inverter that lets you choose which power combinations suits you best. The battery system for hybrid system is mostly to keep you powered during short-medium length brownouts.
Off-Grid Solar Systems
Off-Grid solar systems makes you 100% independent from the grid if you choose to. Their inverters has options to connect to auxiliary power sources such as, generators, wind turbines, or grid for backup. This system heavily relies on a large batteries set up for night hours or extended periods of very dark skies. Commonly off-grid systems are not connected to the grid for backup.
Which system is right for me?
- Look at your electricity bill and see how many kWh are used per month.
- Look at the chart and find your monthly usage.
- Then select the matching system.
Monthly Bill kWh | Minimum | Recommend | Your Solar System |
---|---|---|---|
50 kW | 800 | 800 - 1 kw | |
100 kW | 1 kW | 1 kW | |
200 kW | 2 kW | 3 kW | |
300 kW | 3 kW | 3 kW | |
400 kW | 4 kW | 5 kW | |
500 kW | 4 kW* | 5 kW | |
600 kW | 5 kW | 6 kW | |
8 kW | 8-10 kW | ||
